South Fork Post-Fire Recovery Public Meeting Set for July 9 in Ruidoso
July 1, 2025 —The Village of Ruidoso encourages residents impacted by the South Fork Fire to attend an upcoming public meeting focused on recovery resources and support for private landowners.
The South Fork Post-Fire Recovery Public Meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Eastern New Mexico University–Ruidoso, Lecture Hall Room 201. A pre-meeting drop-in session will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., offering one-on-one conversations with experts who can assist with program applications and post-fire planning.
The meeting will feature presentations from several agencies, including the:
Farm Service Agency, discussing the Emergency Forest Restoration Program (EFRP)
New Mexico Forestry Division, covering state post-fire recovery initiatives
Department of Homeland Security, presenting Block Grant Disaster Recovery funding opportunities
Lincoln National Forest, offering updates on federal recovery efforts
Topics will include technical assistance, cost-sharing opportunities, and guidance for landowners managing fire-impacted properties.
