Precautionary Water Advisory Partially Lifted for Ruidoso and Surrounding Areas

The New Mexico Environment Department’s (NMED) Drinking Water Bureau has confirmed that several areas in Ruidoso and its surroundings have met the requirements to lift the drinking water advisory issued on June 18, 2024.

Systems Where Advisory is Lifted:

  • Ruidoso Water System (partial areas) - Serving a population of 19,195

  • High Country Lodge - Serving a population of 194

  • Eagle Creek Shell Convenience Store - Serving a population of 800

  • Eagle Creek Sports Complex - Serving a population of 250

  • Smokey Bear Ranger Station - Serving a population of 180

The advisory has been lifted in the green areas of the included map. Areas in red still need to boil their water. The NMED Drinking Water Bureau will continue working with Ruidoso Village Officials to lift advisories in additional areas over the coming days.

Systems Where Advisory Remains in Place:

  • Tall Pines Water Association - Serving a population of 84

  • Cedar Creek - Serving a population of 536

  • Alpine Village - Serving a population of 253

  • Gavilan Hills Water System - Serving a population of 56
