Rating increases to ‘very high’ for all three forest districts
The Lincoln National Forest has increased the fire danger rating from “high” to “very high” effective Friday, April 18, 2025.
When the fire danger is “very high” it means that fires can start from most accidental causes, they may spread rapidly and quickly and increase in intensity immediately after ignition. Small fires can quickly become large fires and exhibit extreme behavior such as long-distance spotting and fire whirls when they burn into heavier fuels.
Emergency Fire restrictions are in effect on the Lincoln National Forest. It is important that visitors are aware of the risks and take the proper precautions while in the Forest. More specific information regarding the Emergency Fire Restrictions can be found at https://www.fs.usda.gov/lincoln.
