Flash flooding is ongoing, and the Ruidoso Office of Emergency Management has issued an immediate evacuation for the Upper Canyon and move to higher ground. Evacuate immediately – do not delay and do not gather any belongings. Go now!.

Recent weather conditions have significantly increased the potential for hazardous flooding, posing a serious risk to those in low-lying areas. Ruidoso Emergency Management emphasizes the importance of taking swift action to move to safer locations away from flood-prone zones.

For your safety:

  • Evacuate Immediately: Leave the Upper Canyon Area promptly and relocate to higher ground.

  • Stay Informed: Follow local news and emergency alerts for updates on the situation.

  • Assist Others: Check on neighbors and assist those who may need help evacuating.

Evacuation Shelter:

  • An evacuation shelter has been established at the White Mountain Relief Center, located at the White Mountain Sports Complex, 687 Hull Road. This shelter provides a safe haven for those displaced by the flooding.

  • * Mechem and Brady Canyon

    * Gavilan Canyon between Sutton and Meander

    * Paradise Canyon

    * Cree Meadows and Hull

    * Cree Meadows and Wiley

    * HWY 70 in both directions at Sudderth
