HEAVY RAINS EXPECTED OVER NEXT THREE DAYS IN RUIDOSO & LINCOLN COUNTY

RUIDOSO, NM – August 19, 2022 –   The Village of Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs, Lincoln County, and surrounding areas are expected to receive heavy amounts of precipitation for the next 48 hours. The Village has partnered with all surrounding jurisdictions and is prepared to respond in a manner to best protect life and property.  

Please remember not to attempt to cross any flooded roadways and be aware of high water levels. It only takes 6” of water to knock a person down and only 12” of water to impact vehicles. If you encounter a roadway or crossing with high water levels, turn around and seek an alternative route.

The Village of Ruidoso will provide emergency communications and notifications on this potential flood event on the VOR Facebook page, the VOR Twitter account and the VOR website as needed. If evacuations are needed, shelter will be provided at the Ruidoso Convention Center.
