Natural Gas Outage Information for Ruidoso and Alto

PSA

Due to the ongoing South Fork Fire, Zia Natural Gas has curtailed natural gas service to several areas in the Village of Ruidoso and Alto. If you live in any of the following regions, you may be affected by this outage:

  • - Upper Canyon starting at the roundabout entrance to Upper Canyon.

  • - The area west of Mechem (Hwy 48) from Main Rd (Sudderth) north to Swiss Chalet.

  • - Alpine Village

  • - Cedar Creek

  • - West Gavilan

  • - Barney Luck area

  • - The north end of Gavilan Canyon Road from Grace Harvest Church to Alto Café.

  • - Alto – From Hwy 48 east to Kokopelli Mesa Golf Course and from Mulligan and High Mesa south.

Other areas have not been impacted.

Zia crews have been diligently working to secure and repressurize the mains in these affected areas. We must turn off each meter and re-establish natural gas in the main gas line. **PLEASE DO NOT CUT A LOCK OR ZIPTIE AND TURN YOUR GAS METER ON.** Zia crews and contractors will come through your neighborhood to safely reestablish service.

Turning your meter on prematurely could delay re-establishing gas service as we look for possible damage to the system. Our number one priority is the safety of our technicians, customers, and community. We appreciate your understanding as we work through this emergency.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please call Zia Gas at (800) 520-4277.

Stay safe, and thank you for your patience while we manage this situation together.
