REALTORS® Announce $500,000 Relief Grant for South Fork and Salt Wildfire Victims

The New Mexico Association of REALTORS® (NMAR) has secured a significant $500,000 grant from the REALTORS® Relief Foundation to aid residents impacted by the devastating South Fork and Salt Wildfires. This financial relief aims to assist those who have lost or been displaced from their homes.

Application Process Now Open for Displaced Residents

The relief grant, funded through donations from REALTORS® and affiliated organizations, will offer up to $2,500 per household. This assistance is available to those who qualify on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible applicants can receive support for:

  • Monthly mortgage expenses for primary residences damaged by the wildfire.

  • Rental costs due to displacement from primary residences.

  • Hotel reimbursements for displacement caused by damage to primary residences.

How to Apply

Details and access to the online application process are available at NM REALTOR® website. Applications will be accepted until all funds have been distributed or until August 23, 2024. A panel of local professionals will review and verify applications and supporting documents to expedite the distribution of relief checks.
