Department of Homeland Security Emergency Management (DHSEM) Private Property Debris Removal (PPDR) Program Set to Begin

Starting tomorrow, August 12, 20234, the DHSEMNM Private Property Debris Removal (PPDR) Program will officially begin operations in Ruidoso. Crews will be on the ground, working diligently to remove fire debris from properties damaged in the recent South Fork and Salt Fire incidents. This essential program is part of our community's ongoing recovery efforts, helping to clear the way for rebuilding and restoring the affected areas.

Who Is Eligible?

If you have already signed up for the PPDR program and submitted your Right of Entry (ROE) form, state-designated contractors will be visiting your property soon to commence debris removal. This program specifically targets fire-related debris and does not include flood debris removal.

Haven't Signed Up Yet?

If you have not yet completed your ROE form and want to participate in this program, there is still time. Please visit the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the Horton Complex.
