Due to the ongoing South Fork and Salt Fires, there have been significant disruptions to shipping and delivery services in Ruidoso, Alto, Ruidoso Downs, and Mescalero. Below are the latest updates on how FedEx, USPS, and UPS are handling deliveries during this emergency.

FedEx

FedEx packages destined for Ruidoso, Alto, Ruidoso Downs, and Mescalero can be picked up at the FedEx location in Roswell, NM. The address is:

UPS

UPS has placed an Emergency condition status on all shipments for the area. Here are the key points to know:

  • Holding Period: Shipments with "Emergency" status are being held for 7-10 days from the date received at the terminal.

  • Delivery Attempts: When roads reopen and delivery attempts can be made, UPS will increase resources to deliver packages that are in emergency status.

  • Next Day Air and Temperature Sensitive Packages: If you have these types of packages, call 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877) for more information.

  • Unsuccessful Delivery Attempts: If delivery attempts are unsuccessful, packages will eventually be returned to the sender.

  • Redirecting Packages: If you are waiting on a delivery, you can call 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877) to possibly have your package redirected.

Note: Friday, June 14th was the last full delivery service day before the disruptions.
