Lincoln National Forest raises fire danger rating
The Lincoln National Forest has increased the fire danger rating from “moderate” to “high,” effective June 22, 2023. The measure is part of ongoing efforts to mitigate wildfire risk in the area. These precautions are essential in preventing wildfires.

Village of Ruidoso Seeks Public Input on Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP)
The Village of Ruidoso will host two public input meetings on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 5:30 PM and Friday, June 9, 2023, at 9:00 AM to seek public input for the 2025-2029 Village of Ruidoso Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP). The meetings will be held via Zoom and in person at the Ruidoso Community Center, 134 Reese Drive, Ruidoso, NM. Residents are encouraged to participate.

FHLB Dallas Joins Village of Ruidoso for the Opening of Mechem Meadows Housing Development
Village officials, affordable housing advocates, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) came together this week to celebrate the opening of a housing development serving low-income residents in the Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico. FHLB Dallas provided a $200,000 donation through the Village’s Affordable Housing Bank and Trust following the fatal 2022 McBride Fire.
NM Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to Hold Open-Table Events May 18, 19, and 20, 2023

Senate Bill 403 (Hotel Renovation Tax Credit)
SB403 (Hotel Renovation Tax Credit) provides qualifying properties (at least 15 guest rooms/suites) tax credit for the restoration, renovation, and rehabilitation of at least 40% of the hotel guest rooms/suites. Public Lands Solutions to Hold Outdoor Recreation Stakeholder Meeting
Public Land Solutions is coming to Ruidoso to host a stakeholder meeting at 5:30 pm on March 10, 2023, at the Ruidoso Convention Center. They will be conducting stakeholder outreach and collecting input on how and where people are recreating in New Mexico.
Village of Ruidoso Updated Pet Ordinance
Have a dog or a cat? The Village of Ruidoso no longer requires licensing for pets. While vaccines are still required, licenses are not. A new Ordinance 2023-02, in effect as of January 10, 2023, to help protect and identify your pet if lost requires that all dogs and cats be microchipped and applies to anyone living within the Village limits who owns or cares for a cat or dog.

2023 Employee Service Awards
Honored at a luncheon on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Ruidoso Convention Center, Mayor Lynn D. Crawford was pleased to announce and congratulate the recipients of the 2023 Village of Ruidoso Employee Awards. Recipients were chosen for their hard work and dedication to public service.
Mirna Polendo Named Employee of the Quarter
Mirna Polendo, the Community Development Administrative Assistant for the Village of Ruidoso, has been recognized as the Employee of the Quarter for Quarter Four due to her superb customer service and upbeat disposition. Congratulations Mirna!
Deputy Village Manager Ron Sena Named as Interim Manager
In a unanimous 6-0 vote, the Ruidoso Village Council voted at a Special Meeting earlier today to terminate Village Manager Tim Dodge. Dodge had been on paid administrative leave pending an investigative process since December 2, 2022. At the same meeting, it was announced the current Deputy Village Manager, Ron Sena, has been named as the Interim Manager. Sena will oversee all Village business along with Mayor Lynn Crawford until a permanent replacement is named.
New Mexico Minimum Wage Increase Goes Into Effect January 1, 2023
New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions' (NMDWS) advises employers and workers that New Mexico's minimum wage is increasing, effective Sunday, January 1, 2023. This increase is in accordance with an amendment to the New Mexico Minimum Wage Act. Access the guidelines here.
