VILLAGE OF RUIDOSO OFFERS ASSISTANCE TO FEDERAL EMPLOYEES IMPACTED BY GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN

To assist Ruidoso residents who are federal employees experiencing a negative financial impact during the federal government shutdown, the Village of Ruidoso is instituting a program that allows local federal employees to postpone payment of their Village utility bills. To avoid shut off, payment can be delayed for up to six months without water service being shut off or any penalties assessed. At the conclusion of the six-month period, the affected customers will be provided up to 12 months to bring their accounts current.

Customers requesting to participate in this program must provide federal-employee identification or other verification. They will be required to sign a written plan for repayment similar to what is use with utility customers participating in other deferred payment programs.

Federal employees can sign up for this program at Village Hall Utility Office located at 313 Cree Meadows Dr., Ruidoso. For more information, call the department at 575-258-4343.
