Suspect Arrested & Charged in Alvarado Homicide

RUIDOSO, NM – March 13, 2021 – Anthony Porras-Gonzales, 18, of Ruidoso was arrested last night in connection with the March 10th homicide of Briyan Alvarado. After countless hours of investigation by the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Major Crime Unit (MCU) which is comprised of the Alamogordo Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, the Otero County Sheriff’s Department, and the Ruidoso Police Department, Porras-Gonzales was apprehended without incident at an address in Ruidoso Downs.

He has been charged with an open count of murder, tampering with evidence and shooting from a motor vehicle. He was booked and released into the Lincoln County Detention Center with no bond.

The shooting occurred Wednesday at approximately 1:35 PM in the area of Chase and Wingfield. The victim died at the scene.
