FEMA Mobile Units Deployed to Assist New Mexico Residents
SANTA FE, N.M – FEMA Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers (MDRCs) will be stationed in various locations through early October to help eligible New Mexico residents apply for disaster assistance whose homes or personal property was damaged by wildfires and/or subsequent flooding directly related to the burn scars.
No appointments are necessary to visit a DRC. However, the fastest and easiest way to apply for federal disaster assistance is online at: disasterassistance.gov/.
If you cannot visit a DRC location or complete your application online, call the FEMA Helpline, at 800-621-3362. The toll-free telephone lines operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service, or others, give FEMA the number for that service. Multilingual operators are available (press 2 for Spanish).
The mobile DRCs are subject to weather – inclement weather may cause delays in opening or early closures.
Residents can meet with FEMA specialists at the following locations until they permanently close on the dates noted below in red:
New Mexico residents may also visit FEMA’s two fixed DRC locations:
▪ Mora County: Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Department at 95 County Road CO 11, Buena Vista, NM 87712, Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (closed Sunday).
▪ San Miguel County: Old Memorial Middle School, 947 Legion Drive, Las Vegas, NM 87701, Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (closed Sunday).
