MIDTOWN LIGHT POLE REPLACEMENT PROJECT SET TO BEGIN FEB. 22

RUIDOSO, NM – February 9, 2022 - The Village of Ruidoso has contracted with APIC Solutions to replace all of the Village-owned wooden streetlight poles in the Midtown District with decorative metal streetlights. The contractor will be mobilizing equipment and materials starting on February 22nd.

Construction, including the removal and replacement of poles, will start on February 28th. The project is expected to take approximately six weeks and will be completed by the end of March. The plan is to remove several poles and replace them during the same week. Pedestrian traffic on the sidewalks is expected to be isolated to the areas where the work is being done. Access to businesses will be maintained and any planned disruptions will be clearly communicated with each individual business. The project completion date is March 31st.

Access will be provided to the public parking areas on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of each week as construction safely allows. Signage will be placed to direct visitors to open businesses, public parking areas and restrooms.

The Village of Ruidoso and the Ruidoso Midtown Association will maintain frequent communications with the Main Street Program and Midtown businesses to minimize and mitigate any conflicts. Intermittent closings of sidewalks as well as the traffic lane adjacent to the sidewalks in the immediate project area can be expected for the duration of the project.
