Construction Notice: N.M. 48 (Sudderth/Mechem) Improvement Project
Beginning April 9, 2024, Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (MSCI) will start a road improvement project on N.M. 48 (Sudderth/Mechem) in Ruidoso lasting 4-6 weeks (weather permitting). The project spans from Mile Post 0 to 3.3, with mill and fill operations aiming to enhance road quality and safety. Business access remains unaffected, but drivers should expect minor delays due to lane closures. Work hours are 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, with no weekend construction.
Ruidoso Midtown Association Secures $265,000 for Pedestrian and Parking Upgrades
In a significant development for the Ruidoso community, the Ruidoso Midtown Association has been granted $265,000 in funding for a crucial pedestrian and parking lot improvement project. This financial boost comes as part of the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) and New Mexico MainStreet (NMMS) initiative, which recently allocated $10 million in Capital Outlay Funding for public infrastructure projects in MainStreet districts across the state.
Village of Ruidoso Seeks Public Input on Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP)
The Village of Ruidoso will host two public input meetings on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 5:30 PM and Friday, June 9, 2023, at 9:00 AM to seek public input for the 2025-2029 Village of Ruidoso Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP). The meetings will be held via Zoom and in person at the Ruidoso Community Center, 134 Reese Drive, Ruidoso, NM. Residents are encouraged to participate.
Address Changes Coming to Ruidoso
The Village of Ruidoso is in the process of correcting the E-911 addressing issues in our community which is vital to help ensure life safety for our residents and visitors. Addresses have already been changed on Highway 70, followed by Sudderth and Mechem. Businesses will have 120 days to implement their new address information.
Grindstone Boat Ramp Closure
The Grindstone Lake boat ramp will be closed for three weeks effective immediately for the construction of a boat ramp. Boaters can carry their kayaks and boats down the ramp but will not be able to drive down the ramp. Update: White Mountain Recreation Complex Conceptual Plan
The below White Mountain Recreation Complex plan is derived from several meetings of the White Mountain Recreation Complex Steering Committee consisting of neighboring homeowners, business owners, and public input during the opening day of Youth Sports. Residents can submit comments by November 1 via parksrec@ruidoso-nm.gov.

The Village of Ruidoso is in the final stages of acquiring an additional 9.5 acres of adjacent land to White Mountain Recreation Complex for the purpose of adding more open space and athletic fields in alignment with a 2020 Ruidoso Village Council vote and public survey.
