Village of Ruidoso Releases Winter Storm Plan for 2022-2023
Ruidoso, NM - November 10, 2022. In preparation for the winter season, the Village of Ruidoso releases its Winter Plan 2022-2023 as a framework for the Village’s readiness and response to winter storms and its plans to keep Ruidoso moving safely.
Included are Village plans to:
Keep roads, sidewalks, walking paths, and trails open, clear, and safe.
Ensure the continuance of essential services following major inclement weather situations by clearing accumulated snowfall.
Provide a uniform plan, or level of service, to be followed during emergency snow and ice storms.
Arctic Blast to Move Through Area This Weekend
February 12, 2021: An arctic air mass will be moving through the state this weekend and is expected to bring record-breaking temps, significant snow, and strong gap winds to our area starting Saturday through Tuesday. The most significant precipitation is forecasted for Saturday and Sunday. As the front pushes through, expect extreme cold, dangerous wind chills, snow, and blowing snow Sunday into Monday.

December 29, 2018: Good morning! Crews from the Village are still working diligently to clear the roads. The snow has stopped falling, and it is anticipated that all roads will be re-opening throughout the day. We thank you for your patience and remind you to be careful out there as road conditions are still treacherous.
NEWS ALERT: Severe Driving Conditions
December 28, 2018: The Village of Ruidoso is advising everyone to stay off the roads and travel is discouraged, unless you have an emergency. The Village has had all available snow removal resources out addressing the roads and will continue with road maintenance throughout the remainder of this storm. Please stay safe and warm!
