FEMA Disaster Recovery Assistance Centers Open in Ruidoso and Roswell
In response to the ongoing South Fork and Salt Fires, FEMA has established Disaster Recovery Assistance Centers in Ruidoso and Roswell. These centers provide essential support and resources to residents and businesses affected by the fires.

Available FEMA Assistance:
Serious Needs Assistance (SNA): Covers essential items for eligible households.
Displacement Assistance (DA): Up-front funds for immediate housing needs. Requires completed inspection for eligibility.
Additional Assistance and Benefits: Include streamlined applications, entrepreneur support, habitability and accessibility criteria expansion, temporary housing assistance, simplified appeals process, computer assistance, rental assistance, and major repairs.
Major Disaster Declaration (June 20, 2024):
Affected Areas: Lincoln and Otero counties, including Mescalero Apache Tribe.
Individual Assistance: Grants for temporary housing, home repairs, and low-cost loans.
Public Assistance (Categories A and B): Direct federal assistance available.
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program: Open to all areas in New Mexico.
