AspenFest 2024: Parade Street Closures and Traffic Adjustments

The highly anticipated annual AspenFest Parade returns this Saturday, October 5th, bringing the community together for a day of festivities and a few road closures. The parade starts at 10:00 AM, with street closures beginning as early as 9:30 AM and lasting until the parade concludes.

Street Closures and Timing:

  • Sudderth Drive will be the main thoroughfare affected. Roads accessing Sudderth Drive from Paradise Canyon Drive to the Traffic Circle on Main Road will be closed.

  • No traffic will be permitted past 9:45 AM on Sudderth Drive, from Carrizo Canyon Road/Robin Road to the Main Road Traffic Circle.

Traffic Congestion and Alternate Routes:

Residents and visitors are advised to use alternate routes during the parade. The attached map outlines these alternate routes, helping you avoid Sudderth Drive from Paradise Canyon Drive to the Traffic Circle. Delays are expected due to road closures and traffic congestion, so plan ahead to reach your destination on time.

Barricade and Detour Locations:

To manage traffic flow, a series of barricades and detour signs will be set up. Key intersections affected include:

  • Sudderth Drive @ Mechem Drive

  • Brady Canyon Drive @ Porr Drive

  • Evans @ Mechem Drive

  • West Butler Circle @ Sudderth Drive

  • Pine Road @ Sudderth Drive

  • Country Club Drive @ North Street

Additionally, detour signs will be in place to guide traffic around the closed areas. For example:

  • Mechem Drive @ Cree Meadows Drive (Detour)

  • Brady Canyon Road @ Porr Drive (Detour/No Thru Traffic)

  • Terrace Drive @ Upper Terrace Drive (Detour)

Road Safety Measures:

Over 20 barricades will be placed around key areas to ensure safety, along with additional cones and one-lane-ahead signs to manage merging traffic.

We appreciate the community’s cooperation during these temporary adjustments and encourage everyone to plan ahead for any necessary detours. The AspenFest Parade is an annual celebration of local spirit, and we’re excited to see everyone come together.

Safe travels and enjoy the festivities!
