Village of Ruidoso Community Development Department Digitizes Permit Process
The Village of Ruidoso Community Development Department is transitioning all permits to a new online platform to simplify the process for customers. Business License Registration, Garage Sale, and Banner Permits are available online, and all permits will follow soon. Residents are encouraged to set up their portal log-in using the provided instructions to ensure seamless access as the system is fully implemented. Stay tuned for further updates.
ATTENTION CONTRACTORS: Important Inspection Schedule Update
The State of New Mexico CID will conduct general building and electrical inspections from May 27 to June 3, 2024. Plumbing and HVAC inspections will proceed as usual. No inspections for service changes, temporary power, and temporary to permanent electrical will occur during this time. Inspections requested after June 3 will be scheduled for June 4 with the Village of Ruidoso Building Official.
Village of Ruidoso Introduces Over-the-Counter Plan Check Service
The Village of Ruidoso has introduced a new expedited Over-the-Counter Permitting service in which the Ruidoso Building Permits and Inspection staff will review your plans to ease the transition from concept to permit. This new service is offered on a first come/first serve basis, Monday thru Friday from 8:00 - 9:30 AM, with 30-minute time allotments.

Village of Ruidoso to Waive Construction Permit Fees for Rebuilding after McBride Fire
On May 3, 2022, the Village of Ruidoso issued emergency executive order 2022-01 to waive permit fees for the rebuilding of more than 200 structures that have been destroyed or damaged in the McBride Fire and wind event of April 12, 2022.
Process for Addressing Wind and Fire Event Damaged Structures
The Village is working to make sure every home impacted by the McBride fire and related wind event can recover quickly and completely. As recovery efforts are underway, we will continue to provide resources for rebuilding, including the latest information for permits and property tax assessments to help you recover and rebuild as quickly as possible.
