An emergency alert has been issued for residents and visitors in the Upper Canyon area. Significant rainfall is forecasted for this afternoon, posing a severe risk of flash flooding, debris flows, and landslides. To ensure your safety, it is imperative to leave the area immediately. Delaying your departure could result in serious injury or death.

Immediate Actions Required:

  • Evacuate Now: If you are in or near the Upper Canyon, do not wait for the rain to start. Leave the area immediately.

  • Evacuation Shelter: An evacuation shelter has been established at the White Mountain Relief Center, located at 687 Hull Road (White Mountain Sports Complex). This center is equipped to provide safe refuge and essential services for evacuees.

Important Safety Information:

  • Gas Leaks: Flooding can cause gas leaks. If you smell gas, stay away from the area and report the issue to Zia Natural Gas at 800-520-4277 or 575-378-4277.

  • Stay Informed: Tune into 1490 AM KRUI for ongoing updates and additional information regarding the situation.
