Main Road Bridge Construction Update #1 - January 19, 2018
Construction for Main Road Bridge Replacement will begin on Monday, January 22, 2018. Roper Construction will mobilize their crews and equipment Monday morning after 7:00 AM, and their regular construction schedule will be 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Monday-Friday. Please note that these hours are subject to change due to inclement weather and longer days.
This week, Roper Construction has been placing traffic control and detour signage along the impacted area. The Village Street Department is following behind with the installation of additional detour signage so that residents and tourists will be able to clearly and easily identify the detour route. In addition, full-color detour maps are available at the entrance of Albertson's, Village Hall, the Library and Upper Canyon Lodging Company.
The VOR Street Department has placed stockpiles of salt in the project area along with snow removal equipment in anticipation of weather concerns. If we do get snow, they also have dedicated drivers that will run the snow removal equipment non-stop. They have also placed jersey walls in certain areas for added safety.
Beginning January 24th, Project Manager, J.R. Baumann, will meet with the Roper Construction each Wednesday to discuss progress and status of work so that he can report to the public on Thursday at 8:30 AM at Village Hall. The first of these Public Information meetings on will be on January 25th.
If you have any questions on the project, please visit our Main Bridge Project page or contact Village Hall at 575-258-4343.
