Main Road Bridge Update - April 20, 2018

[Project Update] 

Friday, April 13, 2018: Roper Construction excavated part of the footings on the southwest side of the river and prepared it for Gabion Basket installation. Kimo Construction completed work on the southeast side of the river and began installation of the Gabion Baskets on the southwest side of the project.                        

Monday, April 16, 2018: Roper Construction continued excavating on the southwest side of the river and is working closely with Kimo Construction on the installation of the Gabion Baskets on the southwest side.

Tuesday, April 17, 2018: Roper Construction and Kimo Construction completed the first row of Gabion Baskets on the southwest side of the river and have backfilled to the top securing and backfilling around the sewer line.  Roper Construction continued to prepare footings on the southwest side, and Kimo Construction started the second row of Gabion Baskets.

Wednesday, April 18, 2018: Roper Construction began backfilling the Gabion Baskets on the southeast side of the project, and Kimo Construction continued work on the southwest side. Kimo Construction had to remove some of the rock on the southwest side to re-adjust the angle of the Gabion Baskets, and by the end of the day had corrected the angles.  VOR road crews removed some of the large boulders from the project to be reused for sites determined by Parks and Recreation.

Thursday, April 19, 2018: Roper Construction and Village road crews worked together to distribute the large boulders excavated during construction.  Kimo Construction continued work on the southwest Gabion Baskets.

Anticipated progress for next week is as follows: 

·      Complete the installation of the Gabion Baskets on the southwest side of the river. 

·      Begin lining the river channel to bring elevation up to grade.
