Village of Ruidoso Statement Regarding Public Health Order

from the New Mexico Department of Health

RUIDOSO, NM – March 12, 2020 – The New Mexico Department of Health issued a Public Health Emergency Order to Limit Mass Gatherings Due to COVID-19 on Thursday, March 12, 2020. Mass gatherings mean any public or private gathering that brings together 100 people or more individuals in a single room or connected space where they would be in close proximity to one another such as an auditorium, stadium, convention center, large conference room, or meeting hall. The Village of Ruidoso is complying with the Public Health Order. To learn more, see Mass Gatherings FAQs.

“At the direction of the Department of Health, we are taking steps to eliminate mass gatherings in the Village of Ruidoso. We continue to work closely with federal, state and county agencies to monitor the situation and will continue to provide updates to the public on our website and social media,” said Mayor Lynn Crawford.

Village of Ruidoso officials continue to work in conjunction with officials at Lincoln County Medical Center (LCMC), Lincoln County Emergency Management Services, local law enforcement agencies, the local school district and the New Mexico Department of Health to monitor the development of COVID-19 in New Mexico.

If you feel like you have symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath), call the Coronavirus Hotline for free at 1-855-600-3453.

The Department of Health is urging New Mexicans to:
