Ruidoso Office of Emergency Management, in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) & the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), will take part in the nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system at approximately 12:20 PM MDT on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

Assessment and evaluation to begin on recent flood damage
Beginning Tuesday, July 27, 2021, the Village of Ruidoso will be continuing its efforts with the assessment of the recent Heavy Precipitation and Flood Event - FLOOD2021. N.M. quarantine requirements eased for certain states; Safe-certified hotels may increase capacity - September 3, 2020
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Thursday issued a revised executive order amending the mandatory quarantine for individuals arriving into the state of New Mexico, exempting travelers and residents arriving from states with lower COVID-positivity rates while retaining the quarantine requirement for those arriving from high-risk states. The governor also announced a change to the state’s operative emergency public health order, amending occupancy limits for hotels. The changes are effective Friday, Sept. 4.

BLM Prescribed Burn Planned in Lincoln County
Beginning in August (weather dependant), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will be conducting prescribed burn operations about 10 miles northeast of Ruidoso and 6 miles southeast of Capitan in Lincoln County. The 206-acre Pershing slash pile unit is located within the Fort Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area. Smoke from the burn may be visible from Capitan, Lincoln, Ruidoso, and other surrounding communities.
State renews emergency public health order
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and state health officials on Thursday, July 30, 2020, announced the state of New Mexico will extend its emergency public health order and keep intact existing public health restrictions and guidelines while the state continues to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Reservations required at Grindstone Lake effective June 19, 2020
In an effort to preserve our natural resources and manage visitor capacity, the Village of Ruidoso will require reservations to access Grindstone Lake, as outlined in Executive Order 2020-10, subject to change as conditions or impacts develop. Effective immediately, visitation to Grindstone Lake will be kept at 300 vehicles per day through Labor Day.

Ruidoso Trails Project Update
The following reports summarize project scope and status for the Ruidoso Trails Project consisting of the construction a new Cree Meadows Trail on the north side of Cree Meadows Drive from Mechem (NM 48) to the Links Trail; the rehabilitation of the existing Links Trail around the Links at Sierra Blanca golf course, and the creation of multi-use recreation trails at Moon Mountain Recreation Area.

Individuals, businesses, and other entities within the Village of Ruidoso are encouraged to implement the outlined safe practices as presented by the Executive Branch of the State of New Mexico.
State further modifies public health emergency order To begin May 16
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and state health officials on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, announced New Mexico’s emergency public health order, set to expire May 15, will be extended through May 31 and modified to allow most retailers to operate at 25 percent of their maximum occupancy as determined by fire code. The amended public health order will be finalized and distributed later this week upon the expiration of the current emergency order.
