Ruidoso Police Chief Announces Retirement
Police Chief Darren Hooker has announced that he will retire from the Ruidoso Police Department on March 31st. Hooker has been the Chief of Police since October of 2015 when he joined the department.
“Darren has been an integral part of our Village management team during his tenure here, and he has been a great leader for the Ruidoso Police department,” said Mayor Lynn Crawford. “We wish him well in his retirement.”
Hooker has been in civilian law enforcement for 22 years. Prior to his job as Chief of Police, he was the Sheriff in Roosevelt County. He and his family plan to continue to make Ruidoso their home.
