RUIDOSO, NM – February 24, 2021– The Village of Ruidoso and the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District Two are set to begin a sidewalk upgrade project in Midtown beginning Monday, March 1st. The two entities are investing approximately $500,000 to upgrade and improve safety and pedestrian access throughout the area.

Both entities will work closely with local businesses throughout the duration of the project to ensure business access which will take approximately 3 months to complete. Crews will be working on the south side of the street from Center Street to Zia Real Estate as they remove deteriorating and damaged concrete.

There will be a pre-construction meeting held later this week after which work schedules will be finalized and published. During the construction, if Midtown merchants have any questions or need any help, please feel free to contact either Rodney Griego (Director of VOR Parks & Recreation) at 575-937-8196 or Matt Ingram (Director of Ruidoso Midtown Association) at 575-937-2582.
