Village of Ruidoso to provide information and get public input in upcoming community meetings

Join us online for two upcoming community meetings to discuss the consideration of a Sudderth Corridor Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) designation by the Village of Ruidoso.

This designation will enable the Village to increase its contribution to a thriving business environment in the proposed MRA based on projects identified in the MRA Plan.

Meeting Dates:

On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 2:00 pm, a Planning & Zoning Public Hearing will be held to present information and get public comments on MRA designation and the MRA Plan.

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 2:00 pm the Village Council will hold a Public Hearing to consider MRA designation and adoption of the MRA plan.

Details:

Potential benefits of MRA designation include:

  • Use of Village funds to help owners with signage or façade improvements through small grants or low-interest loans

  • Use of Metropolitan Redevelopment Bonds to finance improvements along the corridor

  • Use of tax increment financing to pay for improvements along the corridor

  • Acquisition of property and sale of Village-owned properties at fair value for redevelopment • Construction of sidewalks and streetscape improvements that benefit property and business owners

Location

Ruidoso Convention Center via Zoom and YouTube.
