Village of Ruidoso to Waive Construction Permit Fees for Rebuilding after McBride Fire

The Village of Ruidoso Community Development Department will be performing wind, tree, and fire damage inspections sustained during the McBride Fire of April 2022. Structures damaged by wind, trees, and partially damaged by fire will require Village of Ruidoso Damage Investigation Permits and Inspections. This includes all structures within the Village and County permitting areas.

The Village of Ruidoso Building Inspectors will be working to expedite the permit process as the Village of Ruidoso assists property owners in starting the process of rebuilding. Executive Order 2022-01 was issued on May 3, 2022, to waive all construction permit fees related to the Wind and Fire incident on April 12th.

Please obtain Damage Investigation permits and Inspections prior to any demolition. Work for repairs in most cases will require building permits and inspections. A New Mexico Licensed Contractor will be required and must have a current Village of Ruidoso Business Registration before conducting work, including out-of-state contractors. Please visit our Building Permits and Inspections webpage for additional information and related online forms.

For ongoing McBride Fire information and updates, please visit the Village of Ruidoso's McBride Fire 2022 Information Portal and/or Municipal Facebook page.
