Assessment and evaluation to begin on recent flood damage
RUIDOSO, NM – July 26, 2021 – Beginning Tuesday, July 27, 2021, the Village of Ruidoso will be continuing its efforts with the assessment of the recent Heavy Precipitation and Flood Event - FLOOD2021. We have engaged with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) – Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program and High Water Mark (HWM) to develop a team that will be walking the river from Upper Canyon to Midtown areas thru the RWWTP.
This assessment is to identify and evaluate the conditions of areas that may have been impacted by this recent event. We anticipate the team to be out through Friday, July 30, 2021, but may extend through next week pending weather conditions. Work hours anticipated are approximately 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM daily. Crews will be in vehicles that will be clearly marked with US Government plates, High Water Mark, and Village of Ruidoso emblems. Individuals will wear safety vests during their working operations to assist property owners in identifying them.
If you have any questions about these crews, please contact Karen Gutierrez at the Village of Ruidoso 575-921-4220, or Eric Boyda, 575-808-0859.
