In accordance with Lincoln County Ordinance 2017-03, the Board of County Commissioners of Lincoln County has enacted Resolution 2021-58 banning all burning of open flames, fires, campfires, trash, rubbish, shrubbery, or other material of any kind except by permit. This Resolution is to remain in effect for thirty (30) days or until rescinded by the Board of Commissioners.

July 1, 2021: The early arrival of the seasonal summer monsoons, accompanied by higher humidity levels and lower temperatures, has reduced fire danger across the forest resulting in the lifting of fire restrictions within Lincoln National Forest beginning Friday, July 2, 2021, at 6 am. Fires, campfires, grills, and smoking will once again be permitted within Lincoln National Forest. Fireworks remain prohibited and are always illegal in the National Forest.

VOR to Move to Level II Fire Restrictions on Friday, June 22nd
The Village of Ruidoso and the Ruidoso Fire Department announced that the fire restrictions will be dropping to Level II on Friday, June 22nd at 5:00 PM. Level II still does not allow for the use of charcoal, outdoor burning stoves, smoking outdoors, fireworks or campfires. However, it is OK to use gas grills that are UL/FM approved.
