Village Offices Closed Today Due to Severe Weather
December 28, 2018: Due to severe weather conditions in the Village of Ruidoso, all Village offices and departments are closed today. All essential personnel including fire, police, streets and solid waste will be working.
Driver's Ed Offered in Ruidoso
A NM DOT approved student driver education course will be offered through the Ruidoso Community Center with winter enrollment now available for January 28 - February 21, 2019, weekdays only.
Village Offices to Close on December 14, 2018 for Employee Awards Program
Village offices will close at noon on Friday, December 14, 2018 for the annual Employee Recognition Extravaganza. All essential services provided by the police department, fire department, solid waste, airport and utilities will run on their regular schedule.
Construction Begins on Grindstone Campground
The Village of Ruidoso Parks and Recreation Department has just completed the design of a campground at Grindstone Lake. The project work has been advertised, and the Parks Director will be requesting the approval of a contract for construction services to build a campground at Grindstone Lake.
Community Meeting #4 Scheduled for Ruidoso Sewer Project
The Village of Ruidoso and Molzen Corbin would like to invite you to attend a public meeting with the project team as they provide an update on the Ruidoso Sewer Rehab Project. This meeting will focus on river improvements, why they are needed, how they will benefit the stability of the river and ultimately protect properties and improve the fish habitat.
Sewer Line Maintenance Begins Dec. 3 on Sudderth Drive
Ruidoso village crews will begin evening maintenance work on Dec. 3, 2018, during the hours of 6 pm to midnight on sewer lines along Sudderth Drive from Carrizo Canyon intersection to Paradise Canyon.

The Village’s IT provider, Systems MD has seen a large increase across the country in phishing emails trying to scam the public or infect computers with Trojan viruses.
Lincoln National Forest Partners with Mescalero Apache on Restoration Project after Little Bear Fire
Work has begun as part of a new partnership between the Mescalero Apache Tribe and Lincoln National Forest to restore the ski area landscape including tree planting, addressing a spruce beetle outbreak, and aspen restoration work.
Pile Burning Planned for Sacramento Ranger District
The Sacramento Ranger District of the Lincoln National Forest will be burning a combination of hand and slash piles in November and December when conditions and weather are favorable. Two Rivers Restoration Project Begins
Work has begun on the river restoration project at Two Rivers Park. The project will construct new fish habitats along with re-vegetating high-use areas.
Grindstone Pile Burn Planned for Indian Canyon Unit and South Fork Campground
Fire managers on the Smokey Bear Ranger District of the Lincoln National Forest hope to take advantage of favorable conditions to conduct pile burning between Grindstone and Mescalero lakes west of Carrizo Canyon Road. Lincoln Country & Tribal Officials Form Group to Focus on School Safety
Officials from Lincoln County, the Village of Ruidoso and law enforcement agencies in Lincoln County along with the Mescalero Tribe and the local schools have formed a strategy working group for the purpose of facilitating the exchange of information and training that will hopefully lead to improved coordination and response to any threat in our region.

Cree Meadows Drive to be Closed on Wednesday, August 1st
Due to this week's series of microbursts, the culverts that cross Innsbruck at Cedar Creek have failed. As a result, Cree Meadows Drive will be closed Wednesday, August 1st from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM while VOR crews work to repair the damage.

Sewer Line Rehab Project Public Meeting Announced
There are two upcoming opportunities to meet with the team from Molzen Corbin regarding the sewer line rehabilitation project that will soon begin in Ruidoso. On July 31st, a formal meeting will take place at 5:30 PM at Village Hall, and an informal meet and greet will be open to the public from 7:30-9:00 AM at Sacred Grounds. We hope you can join us!
