Main Road Bridge Construction Update #2 - January 26, 2018
Monday, January 22, 2018: Roper Construction began work on the Main Road Bridge on Monday, January 22, 2018, with the actual road closure occurring at 8:00 AM. The detour route began evolving with citizen and business owner input as the Village met with the NMDOT to take suggestions for the detour route. After the meeting, NMDOT provided additional signage for the route. removal of the guardrail and walkway took place. Monday also saw the removal of the guardrail and the walkway.
Tuesday, January 23, 2018: Road asphalt was removed along with the Gabion Baskets on the north side of the river and the bridge beams and bridge deck.
Wednesday, January 24, 2018: Crews began the removal of the south side head wall and continued removing Gabion Baskets along the north side of river. The Village also had a scheduled weekly meeting with Zia Engineering to review the detour route and discuss the installation of the SWPP Plan.
Thursday, January 25, 2018: The removal the south side head wall was completed, and crews began removing the north head wall. There were continued efforts to remove the Gabion Baskets along the north side of the bridge.
