[Project Update]
Friday, March 30, 2018: GOOD FRIDAY.
Monday, April 2, 2018: Roper Construction brought in a second excavator with a Teledyne to break up large boulders that have been encountered on the southeast footings for the Gabion baskets. Kimo Construction continued to work on the construction of the northwest Gabion Baskets.
Tuesday, April 3, 2018: Roper Construction was unable to crack boulder and used both excavators to roll the boulder out of the river. With the boulder removed Roper Construction continued with removal of dirt on the southeast side of the river. Kimo Construction continued Gabion Basket construction work on the northwest side of the river. Kimo also began putting the final lift on the northeast side of the river to match the natural grade.
Wednesday, April 4, 2018: Roper Construction continued to prepare footings on southeast side of the river. Roper Construction bumped the 6-inch water line running through the project and Village crews were called in to do repairs. Water service was restored after approximately 4 hours. Kimo Construction continued work on the northwest side of the river and began working on the entrance Gabion Mat on the northwest side of the river.
Thursday, April 5, 2018: Roper Construction worked on completing the footings on the southeast side of the river and began installing base course. Kimo Construction began construction on the baskets to be placed on the southeast side of the river.
Anticipated progress for next week is as follows:
· Roper Construction will begin working on footings on the southwest side of the river and will begin backfilling the north side of the bridge approach.
· Kimo Construction will work on Gabion Basket install on the southeast side of the river.
