Important Community Meeting: Provide Your Input on Center Street Traffic Study and Closure Proposal
The Village of Ruidoso invites all residents to participate in an important community discussion on Monday, January 22, 2024. The Parks & Recreation Commission will host a meeting at 5:00 PM in the Council Chambers at Village Hall. Engineers will present crucial information regarding a traffic study and the potential closure of one block of Center Street adjacent to Wingfield Park.
Ruidoso set to tackle litter; enhance public space through Clean and Beautiful Grant
The New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) has awarded $45,435 to the Village of Ruidoso through the New Mexico Clean and Beautiful Grant Program for fiscal year 2023. Through this program, Ruidoso will use the funds to enhance public spaces and support local wildlife and ecosystems, among other projects.

Grindstone Boat Ramp Closure
The Grindstone Lake boat ramp will be closed for three weeks effective immediately for the construction of a boat ramp. Boaters can carry their kayaks and boats down the ramp but will not be able to drive down the ramp. Grindstone Lake Operating on Summer Reservation System
In an effort to preserve our natural resources and manage visitor capacity, the Village of Ruidoso will require a daily parking fee at Grindstone Lake and advance parking reservations to access Grindstone (Fri./Sat./Sun.) from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM throughout the summer. The parking fee is $10 per vehicle. No advance reservations are required at Grindstone Monday - Thursday. MAKE ONLINE RESERVATIONS HERE >> There is no charge or reservation requirement at Alto Lake.

Ruidoso Parks and Recreation is hosting a growers market at Wingfield Park beginning Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 9 am – 1 pm. Join us for artists, bakers, local produce, and more! Wingfield Market invites local vendors and artisans to join our event. Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2021. Ruidoso Has Big Plans for White Mountain Recreational Complex
The Village of Ruidoso is in the final stages of acquiring an additional 9.5 acres of adjacent land to White Mountain Recreation Complex for the purpose of adding more open space and athletic fields in alignment with a 2020 Ruidoso Village Council vote and public survey.
Annual Ruidoso Community Cleanup
Keep Ruidoso Beautiful and Parks and Recreation are hosting a COVID-Safe Great American Cleanup from April 15 through May 15!

2) Pickup your cleanup equipment between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm at the Parks and Rec Office, located at 535 Resort Dr.

Reservations required at Grindstone Lake effective June 19, 2020
In an effort to preserve our natural resources and manage visitor capacity, the Village of Ruidoso will require reservations to access Grindstone Lake, as outlined in Executive Order 2020-10, subject to change as conditions or impacts develop. Effective immediately, visitation to Grindstone Lake will be kept at 300 vehicles per day through Labor Day.

The safety and health of wildlife depend on the thoughtful actions of humans, and feeding wildlife can have dire consequences. It’s illegal to feed, touch, tease, frighten, or intentionally disturb wildlife.
Ruidoso Trails Project Update
The following reports summarize project scope and status for the Ruidoso Trails Project consisting of the construction a new Cree Meadows Trail on the north side of Cree Meadows Drive from Mechem (NM 48) to the Links Trail; the rehabilitation of the existing Links Trail around the Links at Sierra Blanca golf course, and the creation of multi-use recreation trails at Moon Mountain Recreation Area.
Boat Rentals Available at Grindstone Lake Starting Memorial Day Weekend
The Village of Ruidoso in coordination with High Mountain Concessions will begin offering boat rentals, fishing equipment, and snacks at Grindstone Lake beginning on Friday, May 22, 2020, through Labor Day. Concessions will be open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (weather permitting). Parking is $5 a day, a season pass of $20 is available for residents.

Moon Mountain Disc Golf Course Now Open To The Public
The all-new Moon Mountain Disc Golf Course officially opened to the public on Monday, November 4, 2019. The high-alpine, championship-level course features an 18-hole, par 63 at 8072 feet for short pins and 8970 feet for long pins and uses the Score Application for specifics on each hole including distance and PAR.
Smokey Bear Birthday Bash at Wingfield Park

Lincoln National Forest Partners with Mescalero Apache on Restoration Project after Little Bear Fire
Work has begun as part of a new partnership between the Mescalero Apache Tribe and Lincoln National Forest to restore the ski area landscape including tree planting, addressing a spruce beetle outbreak, and aspen restoration work.
Two Rivers Restoration Project Begins
Work has begun on the river restoration project at Two Rivers Park. The project will construct new fish habitats along with re-vegetating high-use areas.
