Village of Ruidoso Rescinds Wastewater Release Advisory
The Village of Ruidoso has rescinded a wastewater release advisory that was issued last Thursday after SAK Construction LLC, a contractor that was working on the Sewer Line Replacement Project, inadvertently released raw sewage into the Rio Ruidoso during the installation of slip lining. The incident occurred near the Ruidoso Downs Race Track.

Attention General Contractors - Important Information About Electrical Inspections
Electrical inspections will be performed by CID (Construction Industries Division) until February 4, 2021. CID will require a conversion permit (inspection permit) prior to inspection and will cost $30. Please contact Richard Lucero at 505-660-3752 to obtain the permit. Village of Ruidoso Issues Wastewater Release Advisory
The Village of Ruidoso has issued a wastewater release advisory for the Rio Ruidoso area, downstream from the Ruidoso Downs Race Track. The advisory was issued after raw sewage overflowed into the Rio Ruidoso this afternoon at approximately 3:00 PM.
Notice of Final Public Comment Period for Revised Use of Attainability Analysis and Proposed Amendments to the Surface Water Quality Standards
The Village of Ruidoso and City of Ruidoso Downs Regional Wastewater Treatment Plan Joint Use Board (JUB) invite the public to comment on the revised Use Attainability Analysis (UAA) and proposed amendments to the surface water quality standards (20.6.4. NMAC) for the lower Rio Ruidoso and upper Rio Hondo in Lincoln County, New Mexico. The final comment period begins January 20, 2021, and closes February 20, 2021, at 5:00 PM MST.

Forest Service and NRCS Awarded $500,000 for Project Near Sierra Blanca
The Lincoln National Forest and the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) has been awarded over half a million dollars through the Joint Chiefs’ Landscape Restoration Partnership for forest restoration near Sierra Blanca in Otero and Lincoln counties.
Department of Health county map update Jan. 13: One county reaches Green Level, one Yellow Level
For the two-week period beginning Jan. 13, with 30 counties at the Red Level, 20 counties saw a higher average daily per-capita rate of new cases in the last two weeks, and 17 counties experienced worsening positivity rates, with Catron, Quay, Lincoln, De Baca, and Otero seeing the greatest increases by percentage.

COVID-19 Vaccine Now Being Administered in Lincoln County
The COVID-19 vaccine is available in Lincoln County and is being administered through Fusion Wellness in Ruidoso. Fusion Wellness is working in conjunction with the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) in accordance with its tiered system. Registration is required and open to all residents through the New Mexico Department of Health website at https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org
Robin Road Will Be Closed to Thru Traffic January 5 - 7, 2021
SAK Construction will be working on sewer maintenance in the area of Robin Road in Ruidoso from January 5 - 7, 2021, as indicated by the included map. During this time, you may hear noises from equipment, trucks, and pumps. Please use caution when around the work area.
Department of Health county map update: 32 counties operating at Red Level beginning Dec. 30
Over the past two weeks, 28 counties saw improvements in their per-capita daily case rates. Fourteen counties have now driven their case positivity rate below 10 percent, bordering on the state’s 5 percent threshold for operating at the Yellow Level, with Catron, Quay, Union, Otero and Lincoln making the greatest improvements by percentage.
Metropolitan Redevelopment Area Plan (MRA Plan)
The Village of Ruidoso and the Ruidoso Midtown Association has embarked on an assessment of the commercial corridor along Sudderth Drive, which includes Ruidoso’s MainStreet area and the gateway areas on either side leading into the MainStreet district, known as a Metropolitan Redevelopment Plan (MRA Plan). The purpose of the MRA Plan is to promote economic development in the Midtown district and the adjacent commercial districts that are the gateways into Midtown.
Department of Health county map update: 33 counties operating at Red Level beginning Dec. 16, 2020
The New Mexico Department of Health announced the updated statewide COVID-19 map for the two-week period beginning Dec. 16, with all 33 counties at the Red Level. Twenty-seven counties, however, improved in at least one of the two health gating criteria metrics, and 23 improved in both metrics, underscoring an improving COVID-19 outlook across the state.

In an effort to help Lincoln County move into less restrictive conditions under the State’s new Red to Green Framework, the Village of Ruidoso is encouraging everyone to take advantage of the new fast, simple, and painless, COVID-19 testing that is now available at the local New Mexico Department of Health satellite office located at 117 Kansas City Road.
