Cree Meadows Trail Public Information Meeting
The Village of Ruidoso invites you to a public informational meeting to be held in the City Council Chambers on March 9, 2020, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The meeting will discuss the Cree Meadows Trail project connecting the Links Trail to Mechem Drive.

Prescribed Fire Operations Starting 01/29/2020
Smokey Bear Ranger District Prescribed Fire: Beginning on January 29, 2020, and continuing through winter as conditions allow, fire officials will be pile burning in the Gavilan and Perk areas. Smoke will be visible from Ruidoso and surrounding communities.
Survey Crews to Continue Gathering Data Through the End of January
Survey crews will continue to gather data for the Village of Ruidoso in the Upper Canyon, Midtown, and City of Ruidoso Downs areas to support the final design in the mitigation phase of the ongoing FEMA sewer line rehabilitation project. The survey work will continue through the end of January 2020, or longer depending on weather conditions. The crews will be in vehicles that will be clearly marked.
Prescribed Fire Operations Starting 01/14/2020 at the end of Cedar Creek. All operations are weather dependent and will be cancelled for any day that conditions are unfavorable.
Fire managers on the Smokey Bear Ranger District of the Lincoln National Forest plan to implement the Perk Prescribed Burn starting January 14, 2020, and throughout the rest of winter, conditions permitting.The prescribed burn is located near the Cedar Creek Trail system (aka Trail 92) which is 3-4 miles from Ruidoso. Smoke may be visible from Ruidoso, Alto, Bonito, Ruidoso Downs, Hwy 48, Hwy 37, Hwy 70 and other nearby communities.

FEMA has released a draft of the Environmental Assessment report for the Interceptor Sewer Line Project and has opened the Public Comment period.
VILLAGE OF RUIDOSO TO BEGIN GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING SURVEY IN UPPER CANYON
Beginning Tuesday, December 17, 2019, the Village of Ruidoso will be undertaking the final phase of a geotechnical engineering survey in the Upper Canyon and Midtown areas. This work will be scheduled throughout the Rio Ruidoso river-way from the Upper Canyon all the way down to River Trail in Midtown. It is anticipated that the crews will be in and out of each area by December 19, 2019.

Mayor Lynn Crawford has issued an Executive Order to immediately cease all meetings and discussions pertaining to the development of the proposed housing project at 600 Wingfield.
Public Hearing Cancelled Due to Error in Posting
The Village of Ruidoso Planning Commission had scheduled a public hearing regarding Case CU 2019-0982 for December 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Village Hall. However, due to an error in the original posting, the Village has decided to postpone the meeting until further notice to ensure all notified property owners have the correct time and date of the meeting.

Moon Mountain Disc Golf Course Now Open To The Public
The all-new Moon Mountain Disc Golf Course officially opened to the public on Monday, November 4, 2019. The high-alpine, championship-level course features an 18-hole, par 63 at 8072 feet for short pins and 8970 feet for long pins and uses the Score Application for specifics on each hole including distance and PAR.

Lane Closures for Sewer Line Maintenance
Beginning at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, (weather permitting) crews from the Village of Ruidoso will be performing maintenance on sewer lines beginning at Whitlock Street to Raines Road (right before Lincoln County Medical Center) and will continue through Thursday, September 26, 2019.
Former Ruidoso Mayor L. Ray Nunley has died. Service Set for October 25, 2019.
L. Ray Nunley, 81, who served as Mayor of Ruidoso from 2006 to 2010 died Tuesday, September 13, 2019. His funeral service will be Friday, October 25, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at First Christian Church in Ruidoso.
