New Magistrate Court Building to be Constructed in Village of Ruidoso
The Village of Ruidoso was successful in obtaining approval from the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) for the financing of a new Magistrate-District Court building. Having the court building centrally located in Ruidoso will be beneficial and convenient not only to residents of the Village of Ruidoso and out to other surrounding areas of Lincoln County.
Village of Ruidoso Receives $750,000 Community Development Grant
For the first time since 1986, the Village of Ruidoso recently applied for a Community Development Grant to improve the Town and Country Subdivision. Last week, Village management was notified that its application was ranked #1 in the state and was fully funded the maximum amount of $750,000.00. Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring and is expected to last for 18 months.
The Links public survey results show residents in favor of keeping 18-hole golf course
Results from a recent public survey by the Village of Ruidoso show that 52% percent of survey respondents voted in favor of keeping The Links at Sierra Blanca golf course as is when the current land lease expires. The complete survey results now available online to view or download.

Village of Ruidoso To Survey Residents Regarding The Links Golf Course and Grindstone Canyon Recreation Areas
The Village of Ruidoso Council approved two surveys created by Research and Polling Inc., to poll the residents of Ruidoso on the future use of the Links Golf Course and Grindstone Canyon Recreation Areas during a special Council Meeting last week. The Village’s Comprehensive Plan, completed earlier this year, identified the need to develop a long-term master plan for these Village-owned properties.
Gov. Lujan Grisham approves $178 million of CARES Act funding for small businesses, tribal and local governments
The office of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Monday, July 27, 2020, announced that applications have gone out for $178 million of CARES Act funding for tribal and local governments. $28 million is available for tribal government grants and $150 million is available for city and county grants. These funds can cover costs that are necessary expenditures incurred due to the public health emergency for the period beginning on March 1, 2020, through December 30, 2020.

The Village of Ruidoso announces the launch of 1490 KRUI - The Mountain, with 24-hour broadcasting. Programming includes a soft adult contemporary music format with local news, weather, community activities, and public service announcements relevant to residents and visitors. Reservations required at Grindstone Lake effective June 19, 2020
In an effort to preserve our natural resources and manage visitor capacity, the Village of Ruidoso will require reservations to access Grindstone Lake, as outlined in Executive Order 2020-10, subject to change as conditions or impacts develop. Effective immediately, visitation to Grindstone Lake will be kept at 300 vehicles per day through Labor Day.

Ruidoso Sewer Project Easement Update
Over the next few weeks, the Village of Ruidoso will be sending out updated or revised letters to property where utility easements will be needed for the Restoration Phase and the Lift Station Phase.
Ruidoso Trails Project Update
The following reports summarize project scope and status for the Ruidoso Trails Project consisting of the construction a new Cree Meadows Trail on the north side of Cree Meadows Drive from Mechem (NM 48) to the Links Trail; the rehabilitation of the existing Links Trail around the Links at Sierra Blanca golf course, and the creation of multi-use recreation trails at Moon Mountain Recreation Area.
State announces soft reopening for outdoor or patio services at dine-in restaurants beginning May 27, 2020
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, announced the state’s emergency public health order will be amended to permit limited outdoor dine-in services for most of the state beginning Wednesday, May 27. Dine-in services inside restaurants and bars remain temporarily prohibited.
Boat Rentals Available at Grindstone Lake Starting Memorial Day Weekend
The Village of Ruidoso in coordination with High Mountain Concessions will begin offering boat rentals, fishing equipment, and snacks at Grindstone Lake beginning on Friday, May 22, 2020, through Labor Day. Concessions will be open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (weather permitting). Parking is $5 a day, a season pass of $20 is available for residents.
Virtual ZOOM Public Meeting Scheduled for June 3, 2020 about Cree Meadows, Moon Mountain, and Links Trail Projects
The Village of Ruidoso will hold a joint virtual public meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm for the Cree Meadows Trail Project, Links Trail Rehabilitation Project, and the Moon Mountain Trail Project.
Junction Road Paving, Closure and Detours to begin Monday, May 11.
The Street Department will begin work on Monday, May 11, 2020, for the paving of Junction Road and will continue until finished. Watch for Detour signs and street crews working, approach with caution. Seek alternative routes.

Mayor Lynn Crawford released today Executive Order 2020-08 providing public safety guidance and Village of Ruidoso participation in the development of a soft blueprint for how Lincoln County’s economy might begin to restart. The plan, a set of criteria contained in three-phases, provides Covid-19 Safety Practices (CSPs) for individuals, healthcare providers, employers, and retailers beginning May 15, 2020, when the amended May 1, 2020, NM Emergency Public Health Stay-at-Home order is scheduled to expire.
