Prescribed Burns Planned for Smokey Bear Ranger District
Fire managers on the Smokey Bear Ranger District of the Lincoln National Forest hope to take advantage of favorable conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality, and forecasted weather to conduct pile burning as early as July 16, 2018, until the end of September.

VOR to Move to Level II Fire Restrictions on Friday, June 22nd
The Village of Ruidoso and the Ruidoso Fire Department announced that the fire restrictions will be dropping to Level II on Friday, June 22nd at 5:00 PM. Level II still does not allow for the use of charcoal, outdoor burning stoves, smoking outdoors, fireworks or campfires. However, it is OK to use gas grills that are UL/FM approved. VOR Moves to Level III Fire Restrictions
Due to the extremely dry conditions, the Village of Ruidoso has moved into Level III fire restrictions effective at 8:00 AM this morning.

Main Road Bridge Update #18: May 19, 2108
The Main Road Bridge in the Upper Canyon has officially re-opened! Crews finished the project yesterday afternoon and traffic is now flowing across the bridge.

Main Road Bridge Update #15 - April 27, 2018
Friday, April 20, 2018: Roper Construction continued to level out the bottom of the river on the east side of the river and has backfilled the sewer line. Kimo Construction completed the third row of baskets on the southwest side (upstream) and has started on the Gabion Basket install on the southwest side closest to the bridge (downstream).

Lane Closures for Sewer Line Maintenance
Beginning at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 9th, crews from the Village of Ruidoso will be performing maintenance on sewer lines from the circle to Paradise Canyon Road beginning at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 9th and will continue through Thursday, April 12th.
Sidewalk Repair to Begin on Sudderth Drive
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District Two will repair sidewalk from River Trail to Country Club Drive on Sudderth Drive in Ruidoso.

Monday, April 2, 2018: Roper Construction brought in a second excavator with a Teledyne to break up large boulders that have been encountered on the southeast footings for the Gabion baskets. Kimo Construction continued to work on the construction of the northwest Gabion Baskets.
